VibeDeck closes $2 million (USD) round of financing

Monday was an exciting day for VibeDeck, as we were happy to announce a $2 million (USD) round of financing to further our vision to simplify e-commerce.

Full press release below:

London, UK (20th June 2011) – VibeDeck (“BC Technologies Ltd.”), a web publishing and e-commerce company, has raised $2 million (USD) from a private investor to develop a direct-to-fan e-commerce platform for music artists. The deal was struck on the 2nd April 2011 and the website, at http://vibedeck.com, launched a month later in beta.

“We are very fortunate to have an investor on board who shares our vision to simplify e-commerce,” said Lior Shamir, the company’s Co-Founder & CEO, adding, “In its first iteration, our product is intended to improve the transaction experience between an artist and a fan, allowing artists to enjoy maximum profit margins, greater ease-of-use, and a deeper relationship with their audiences. Looking ahead, we hope that VibeDeck will extend beyond music to touch the careers of sole proprietors and small businesses across a variety of markets. To this end, we have our investor’s unwavering commitment.”

VibeDeck provides a free service for music artists to publish a customizable web page from which they can sell or giveaway their digital tracks. VibeDeck does not take a cut of sales or process payments. As such, revenue flows directly into the user’s PayPal account so that funds, as well as transaction data, are immediately available.

“From a product perspective, we are focused on eliminating every step in the ‘transaction piece’ that we do not consider absolutely crucial,” said Wil Padley, the company’s Co-Founder & CTO, adding, “VibeDeck may do less than its alternatives but, in our opinion, especially after a number of updates in the coming weeks, will be just as powerful and more accessible to the non-technical, bootstrapping music entrepreneur.”

About VibeDeck:
VibeDeck (http://vibedeck.com) is a free direct-to-fan e-commerce platform for music artists. VibeDeck users with no technical ability can easily publish a customizable web page from which they can sell or giveaway their digital tracks, keep 100% of their sales, and immediately access funds and transaction data.

Sell direct-to-fan on Facebook

We’ve been working on some Facebook integration recently and the first step, which we launched on Sunday (yes we work the weekends :) , was to give you the ability to sell directly on your facebook page.

So after a few days of work with no sleep, we’ve done it and you can now sell on facebook!

Quick ‘How to..’

1) Log into your VibeDeck page
2) On the main menu, click the new facebook tab.
3) Connect to your facebook page (you’ll obviously need to be the admin of the artist page).
4) Follow the next 3 steps to add your new store.
5) Revel in your new music store awesomeness.

Sell via VibeDeck on any website

You can now embed your VibeDeck releases onto any website using our new widget embed feature.

If you know a little html then simply click the “Embed” button on the top of a live release and grab the embed code and place it somewhere appropriate within your website’s <body> tag.

If you need a hand with installing it, then give us a shout over here.

Export ya data ta ta..

We pushed a small update today which allows you to export all your sales data in one nice n’ tidy .csv file.

You’ll find it under the new ‘Stats’ menu option.

Updated player & drag n’ drop tracks

We’ve updated the track player today.

It now shows a list of tracks and uses one single player rather than having multiple instances of flash running.. boo!

To re-order your tracks, simply click and drag the double-sided icon on the right of any track to move it up or down the playlist.  You must have at least two tracks uploaded within a release block.  Have fun.

VibeDeck is live!

Today, we launched VibeDeck.

VibeDeck is a new and truly free direct-to-fan platform where you can sell your music and keep 100% of your sales.

It took us 8 weeks to build, start to finish (altho it’ll never be actually finished) and we’d love for you to give it a try and let us know what you think.
